Valentine's boxes are about sentiment. Make this year special by showing your mate that you remember shared moments, plans, and dreams, by making a memory box.

If you are looking for a unique and personal gift to give this Valentine's Day, consider a memory box. Memory boxes are containers for small gifts, promises, and dreams for the future. In the spirit of Christmas stockings, memory boxes prolong the delight of receiving a gift while reflecting the giver's creativity. They are also a great way to make the presentation of an engagement ring or significant small gift more mysterious by delaying the big moment.

The Best Gifts Don’t Have to be Expensive

The advantage of a memory box is that it can cost as much or as little as you can afford. The value of the gift is in the sentiment and creativity you put into it. If you have a hard time expressing you feelings in words, make them into tokens and include them in a themed memory box that shows all of the things you are feeling for your significant other.

Pick Your Valentine's Box Size, Either Decorated or Plain

Memory boxes can be made from shoeboxes, coffee cans, wooden boxes from the craft store, or carved boxes from the import store. They can be as large or as small as you need to express your feelings. Charms, small figurines, mini-books, candy, cards, and photos can be added to make your memory box a one of a kind expression of your love.

Celebrate Your Future Plans and Goals

If she's everything to you, and you want her to know it, include a decorative heart with a key attached. If you appreciate your wife's efforts in saving for a home, make a small faux deed for your dream home and include it in a memory box with a date a couple of years in the future.

If your husband or lover is a sports fan, but you can't afford seasons tickets this year, include a mock up of seasons tickets for next season or the one after that, and include them in a memory box with tokens from his favorite team. If you have a plan to start a family in a couple of years, but the delay is frustrating, include a rattle or a set of booties tagged for baby and engraved or marked with the big year.

If your loved one has suffered setbacks or ill health, include a horseshoe to nail over the door for luck, or a four-leaf clover charm. Include IOUs for rides to the doctor, or for performing household chores.

Conceal a Big Gift and Make Gift Giving an Event with a Memory Box

If you have a very special gift in your memory box, a confirmation that you are pregnant, an engagement ring, or tickets for a cruise, place them at the very bottom of the box and prolong the suspense while your loved one looks through other items that offer hints about the great gift waiting to be revealed.

Sentiment isn't a dirty word, especially on Valentine's Day. Make the day memorable by letting the person you love know what you are really feeling for them with the gift of a memory box.
